Florida ASTA Board Members

President - Vinny Conrod (Innovation HS, Orlando)

Vinny Conrod is the Director of Orchestras at Innovation High School in Orange County Public Schools, and serves as President of the Florida ASTA chapter. Previously, Mr. Conrod taught Orchestra at Lake Nona High School (Orange County Public Schools - Orlando, FL), Doerre Intermediate School (Klein Independent School District - Houston, TX) and Avalon Middle School (Orange County Public Schools - Orlando, FL).

Orchestras under Mr. Conrod’s direction have performed at the ASTA National Orchestra Festival, Florida Music Education Association's State Conference, and Texas Music Educators Association State Conference. Mr. Conrod holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a minor in Performing Arts Administration, and a Master’s of Arts in Music with a concentration in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Central Florida.

President-Elect - Vacant

Our President-Elect position is currently vacant, and we need passionate and dedicated educators willing to serve our state in that role.

This role consists of a 5 - year leadership commitment, consisting of:

1 year as President-Elect
2 years as President
2 years as Past-President

This structure allows for time assisting the President with the leadership of the chapter while serving as President-Elect, taking over primary leadership as President for two years, followed by two years of support in the role of Past-President once primary leadership has been handed over to another educator. It is crucial that individuals pursuing this role are committed to serving the complete term to maintain a functional leadership structure for our state chapter.
